Swimming Pools Rules & Regulations
(following are the Swimming Pool Rules for Northampton Recreation Centers adopted by the District Board of Directors in May 1995).

Safety is the primary focus of pool operations. Our lifeguards have been required to receive extensive training for this purpose. Adult users are asked to cooperate with the staff and allow them the authority to maintain a safe pool environment. Should any user disagree with pool rules or lifeguard actions, their concerns should be directed to the facility manager at the MUD building.

  1. Swimming pool use is limited to residents with a valid card who have paid their current annual user fee and their non-resident guests.
  2. No running on the pool deck.
  3. No rough play or pushing.
  4. No toys with sharp edges, hard sides, or those that have a potential to injure others.
  5. No swimming in the diving area unless that area is specifically designated for swimming by the lifeguard.
  6. Goggles cannot be worn when using the diving board as they prevent a clear view of the board and the water,
  7. No hanging from the diving board.
  8. Only one person on the diving board at a time.
  9. Only one bounce allowed on the diving board.
  10. Floats obscure the lifeguard's view of the bottom and must be approved ahead of time by the guard on duty.
  11. No glass of any kind in the pool area.
  12. All food should be consumed on the wooden deck areas.
  13. Non-swimmers must be attended by and adult guardian.
  14. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed within the pool fence area.
  15. Proper swim wear is required.
  16. Users may not prop open gates or let non-paid users in.
  17. Failure to cooperate with the lifeguards will result in your loss of pool privileges.

Furthermore, the District can, at any time, revoke the privilege of use of the facilities by any person or persons due to misconduct or violation of any of the rules and regulations as set forth by the District. In the event of any such action, any user fee paid will not be refunded.
